The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) is the police force that serves Northern Ireland. Their website was badly out-of-date and no longer fulfilling the needs of the force or the public
It was important the site met WCAG AA accessibility standards to ensure the organisation can reach as many people as possible. As a public facing website it was key that the site met the needs of as many people as possible
The site has some key signposts that we made sure stood out, particularly emergency and crime reporting information
The colour palette is very simple and special care was taken to consider any delicate religious or political associations.
The client was given access to a lot of different page types and components to try and bring their content to life and sensibly draw users towards related content.
Usability was front of mind when designing this site as it's intended audience is so broad.
